Resumen
Se trata del recorrido por los últimos días de Gérard de Nerval, antes de su
suicidio en un callejón del viejo París. Un recorrido, también, desde la per-
cepción del poeta de que el sueño es una segunda vida y de que los prime-
ros instantes del sueño son un modo de morir. Lo que para él significaba
atravesar el Aqueronte, a la vez la tentación de la muerte y el umbral de la
locura. Un recorrido que sucede a partir de un memorial de sus desencuen-
tros con la vida y con el París de su tiempo, tan distante del que ahora cono-
cemos, recorrido junto a las reflexiones de Lezama y de quien escribe. Un
poeta en el umbral de la derrota que, sin embargo, fue capaz de crear algu-
nos de los mejores poemas de la literatura francesa y de poder ser conside-
rado el mayor poeta del Romanticismo.
Abstract
This is the journey through the last days of Gerard de Nerval, before his su-
icide in an alley of the old Paris. Is also a journey, from the poet’s percep-
tion that sleep is a second life and that the first moments of sleep are a way
to die. What crossing the Acheron meant to him, while the temptation of
death and the threshold of madness. An expedition starts from a memorial
of his deviations with life and the Paris of his time, so distant from nowa-
days and along with the reflections of Lezama and the writer. A poet on the
edge of the defeat, however, was able to create some of the best poems in
French literature and can be considered the greatest poet of Romanticism.
