RESUMEN
La trayectoria polftica de Octavio Paz ha sido controvertida por lo que ha
producido en sus ensayos de
El laberinto de la soledad
o
El ogro filantró–
pico,
y se ha querido definir su personalidad como dos caras de la mone–
da: el critico social y el poeta; sin embargo, en su poes'a se combinan
estas dos imágenes del intelectual y creador al mismo tiempo. Es el poeta
que piensa
y
el hombre que contempla una realidad para expresarla a tra–
vés de la palabra. El presente ensayo destaca el proceso creativo del poe–
ma
Entre
la
piedra
y
la flor,
en donde se aprecia la imagen del poeta como
un creador y activista polftico a la vez. Se analiza su estructura y el estilo
de los versos en torno al campesino maya
y
el cultivo del henequén.
ABSTRAer
The political career of Odavio Paz has been controversial for what has oc–
curred in their essays The Labyrinth of Solitude or Philanthropic ogre, and
has wanted to define his personality
as
two sides of the coin: the social
critic and poet; however, in his poetry combine these two images of the
intelledual and creative simultaneously. He is the poet who think5 and the
man who contemplates a reality to express it through words This paper
highlights the creative process of the poem betvveen the stone and flow–
er, where the image of the poet is seen as a creative and political adivist
at a time. Strudure and style of the verses around the mayan peasant and
sisal cultivation is discussed.
