esumen
El presente ensayo reflexiona sobre las estructuras narrativas y la búsque-
da del sentido de la vida en tres novelas de Severino Salazar:
Donde
deben estar las catedrales
,
El mundo es un lugar extraño
y
Paisajes impo-
sibles
. La danza de los ciervos. Sus libros siempre estuvieron centrados en
la manera en que los seres humanos han buscado un sentido trascendente
a su existencia. Esta búsqueda fue paralela a la exploración de las formas
narrativas con que Salazar afrontaba cada uno de sus proyectos literarios.

bstract
This essay is a reflection about the narrative structures in the first two
novels and the posthumous novel of Severino Salazar, and also the search
for the meaning of life in the three novels. His books consistently centered
on the way human beings have searched for a transcendent sense of their
existence. This search was parallel to the Salazar’s exploration of the nar-
rative forms with which he managed each of his literary projects.
